Haskell Athletics, and Coach Chad Kills Crow announce the signing of 6'9 power forward Ron Rousseau to the 2012-2013 Haskell Indians Men's Basketball Team. Rousseau, an enrolled member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe completed his high school education at Cheyenne-Eagle Butte located in Eagle Butte, South Dakota. Rousseau was coached by Jesse Mendoza, a 2012 South Dakota High School Basketball Hall of Fame Inductee.
In the spring of 2010, Rousseau entered United Tribes Technical College, a junior college in Bismarck, North Dakota. In May 2011 he graduated with an associate's degree in Criminal Justice.
In his single season with the UTTC Thunderbirds (2010-2011), Rousseau averaged 12.5 points per game, and pulled down 9.4 rebounds per game. Rousseau was named to the Mon-Dak All-Conference Academic Team, and earned team recognition as the Most Improved.
Rousseau was deployed to Afghanistan shortly after his graduation from UTTC, and most recently returned to the States.
