LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) announced on Monday that Grant Shorty (SO/Albuquerque, NM) of Haskell Indian Nations University (Kan.) has been named the A.I.I.'s Men's Golfer of the Week for the duration of April 10-16.

Shorty, a sophomore from Albuquerque, N.M., finished second out of 60 golfers on at the Baker Tournament in Lawrence, Kan., on April 10-11, leading the Indians to a ninth place finish.  Shorty shot a three-round total 222 (77, 74, 71) to lead Haskell as the tournament runner-up.  Shorty's selection is Haskell's first A.I.I. Golfer of the Week honor in 2017.
