Marshall, Missouri - The Haskell Women's Softball team was on the road to Missouri Valley College on Friday afternoon for a double-header.
Game 1: Missouri Valley College
In the first inning, Haskell would take 3 outs right away. The Vikings would get their offense going with ten base hits, which lead to nine runs batted in. The second inning, the Indians continued to struggle on offense, striking out once and grounding out twice to end the inning. The Vikings wouldn't score in the 2nd inning due to the Indians defensive stops. Haskell would continue to struggle to find base hits throughout the game. The Vikings would score three more runs to go up 0-12 against the Indians and close out the Indians the next two innings to take game 1, 0-12 and giving Bethany Chamblee a no-hitter.
Game 2: Missouri Valley College
In the first inning, Haskell would get grounded out three times by the Vikings defense. The Vikings would keep their bats swinging from the first game, scoring five runs. The Indians would get base runners in scoring position but the Vikings defense had other plans. The Vikings would get two base hits but center field Laci Unah would answer back with three catches for outs. The Vikings defense would control the rest of the game allowing one base hit and striking out three batters. The Vikings offense would score four runs to take home the win 0-9 in five innings.
Haskell moves to 0-14 record for the season while Missouri Valley College moves to 7-11 record.
Haskell will return back to the diamond on Wednesday, April 5th for a double-header against Kansas City Kansas Community College in Kansas City, Kansas. First pitch will be at 2:00 pm CST.
