Hastings, Nebraska – The Haskell Women's Basketball team was on the road against Hastings College Monday night.
In the first quarter, the Broncos came out on a 9-0 run to start the game. From there the Broncos would continue to increase the lead to finish out the quarter 9-26. In the second quarter, The Indians would get there offense going cutting the lead down to 12 points 23-35. The Broncos would close out the quarter on a 14-6 run to go up 29-49. Haskell was shooting 43% from the field and was led by Cerissa Honena-Reyes (SR/Fort Hall, ID) with 15 points. Hastings College was shooting 48% from the field and was led by Emma Grenfell with 13 points in the half.
In the third quarter, Hastings College would continue to control the game and the lead throughout the quarter going up 37-74. The Indians would continue to struggle on both sides of the court in the fourth quarter. Hastings College would take home the win 98-45. Haskell shot 31% from the field and 33% from the 3 point line. Hastings College shot 50% from the field and 51% from the 3 point line.
Haskell moves to 11-15 record and 1-2 in conference for the season while Hastings College moves to 21-6 record.
Haskell was led by Cerissa Honena-Reyes with 17 points and 5 rebounds in 27 minutes. Following her was Justina Coriz (JR/Santa Fe, NM) 8 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist in 28 minutes in the game. Cailey Lujan (FR/Many Farms, AZ) had 6 points and 3 rebounds in 12 minutes.
