The cool breeze brought the smell of hotdogs and popcorn. Laughter lingered in the air. All the sounds and scents from a tailgate party as fans, including alumni, were anticipating the football game. The colorful evening sky that only Kansas could offer was the perfect backdrop for the Indians to enter the field from the arch. The first quarter got the crowd going.

With 1.49 left in the first, Maverick Lang threw a pass to Stewart Yazzie for a 16yard touchdown. Victor DeMarco's kick brought the score to 7-14. At .55, Durell Cooper had a 70yard interception return bringing the score to 13-14. 19-28 was the score in the 3rd quarter when Jennara Bollin ran for a 75 yard pass from Lang. Lang passed for 141 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Indians fell short ending the game 19-48.

Haskell will travel to Shawnee OK to face off against Oklahoma Baptist University at 1pm October 18th.
