Arlington, Texas junior shoots first round 70 (-2) and finishes the tournament +2 (146)
OTTAWA, Kan. – HINU junior Derek Frick finished this past week's Ottawa Invitational tied for second place with a 146 two-round score, which was good enough for two over par and just two strokes off the lead.
Frick was the highest placing Indian golfer, as his teammate (Jr.) Randy Tate finished tied for 41st with his 175 two-round score. Other HINU golfers in in the invitational included sophomore Josh Little Axe and Chris Brunin, who both withdrew from the event and did not finish. As a team, Haskell did not finish the tournament either with an official final score or place. Avila University out of Kansas City finished in first during the two day tournament with a combined team score of 600.
Gary Tanner's crew will next play on Monday April 2 at the two-day William Woods University Tournament in Fulton, Mo.
